The Congress on Monday targeted Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav over an alleged land scam, saying it would continue its campaign to hold him accountable in the matter and demand his resignation.
The main opposition party also said that if the Chief Minister does not answer the public's questions, it will launch a "Jawab Do Abhiyan" ("Answer the Questions Campaign") from June 30.
**Congress to continue its struggle**
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, while reposting a post on X by Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Jitu Patwari, alleged that there was no doubt that the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh was the "mastermind" behind this major land scam carried out for personal gain.
He said, "The Congress will continue its struggle demanding his resignation in order to hold him accountable, because that is the only way to ensure accountability."
**Patwari questions CM Mohan Yadav**
In a post on X, Patwari demanded that the Chief Minister break his silence on the alleged land scam and answer the public's questions.
Patwari said that the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee had given the Chief Minister three days to respond to the public's questions, and the second day had also ended.
He said, "Chief Minister, the eyes of the entire state are still on you. No response has come from the Chief Minister regarding the questions raised in the court of public opinion. Ministers have spoken, the organization has spoken, and official clarifications have also been issued, but the public wants to know when the Chief Minister himself will speak."
The Congress leader said that if the related news report was false, the Chief Minister should approach the court, and if the allegations were baseless, he should present evidence before the public.
Patwari said, "In a democracy, silence is never an answer. Now only one day remains. The people of Madhya Pradesh are eagerly waiting for your response."
He added that if the Chief Minister's "silence" was not broken, the Congress would hold a "Corruption Meeting" on June 30 and launch the "Jawab Do Abhiyan" with the public, because asking questions is the people's democratic right.
A report published recently by the English daily *The Indian Express* claimed that after Mohan Yadav became Chief Minister in December 2023, his family and real estate companies associated with him purchased 137 land plots in Ujjain.
