After a devastating roof collapse of an under-construction godown, in which a rescue operation is underway at the Taratala area of Kolkata today, and in which 3 people have died, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited the spot and inspected the site.
Suvendu Adhikari informed the media that a report would be prepared by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) for the incident. He said detailed information would be provided about the Taratala accident tomorrow in the Assembly. The session of the assembly is underway in Kolkata.
Army, NDRF, police, and personnel of Fire and Emergency Services have joined hands for the relief and rescue operations. He lauded the efforts of members of Fire Services and NDRF for involving the locals at the preliminary rescue stage today.
The injured persons are being treated at the government SSKM Medical College and Hospital. Contact has been established with the trapped people inside the debris, and water and oxygen have been provided by the rescue team. Efforts are underway to rescue them.
