PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary led a grand Tiranga Yatra in Patna on Monday, walking from JP Golambar to Kargil Chowk while carrying the Tricolour.
Thousands of people, carrying the Tricolour, were raising chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" at Kargil Chowk intersection.
The procession was organised as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, which will continue until August 17.
A large number of schoolchildren, female students, NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides, youth and members of social organisations participated in the procession.
More than 10,000 people were expected to join the event.
The atmosphere at JP Golambar was filled with patriotic fervour from the morning.
Before the procession began, students from the Patna Muslim High School presented a brass band performance featuring patriotic tunes.
Their performance drew appreciation from those gathered at the venue.
As the procession moved towards Kargil Chowk, traffic arrangements were modified across several major routes.
Vehicular movement around JP Golambar, Dakbungalow Crossing, Gandhi Maidan and Kargil Chowk was affected, while the movement of heavy vehicles in certain areas was temporarily restricted.
Traffic police arranged alternative routes and advised commuters, particularly office-goers, to plan their journeys in advance and avoid the affected stretches wherever possible.
The Patna Police remained on high alert throughout the event.
Security personnel were deployed at key locations, while CCTV cameras and drones were used to monitor the crowd and surrounding areas.
Quick Response Teams (QRT), bomb disposal squads and dog squads were also kept ready to respond to any emergency.
The district administration and police maintained close coordination to ensure the procession proceeded peacefully.
The administration appealed to citizens to cooperate with the security and traffic arrangements, maintain peace and refrain from spreading or believing rumours.
The Tiranga Yatra created a strong atmosphere of patriotism in Patna, with the participation of students and citizens adding momentum to the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
