BENGALURU: More than 1,700 cyclists participated in the 11th edition of Embassy Pedal for the Planet at Embassy Manyata on Sunday, turning the business park into a vibrant celebration of cycling, fitness, sustainable mobility and community spirit.
Organised by Embassy Office Parks REIT, the event brought together professional cyclists, amateur riders, families and children from Bengaluru and beyond. The initiative has grown over the years into a signature platform promoting active lifestyles and environmentally responsible modes of transport.
The 2026 edition featured four categories catering to different age groups and levels of experience. These included a 40-km Pro-Elite Ride, 25-km Amateur Ride, 15-km Open Fun Ride and a 2-km Kids Fun Ride. Separate men's and women's races were held in the Pro-Elite and Amateur categories.
Embassy REIT CEO Amit Shetty said the event had evolved into a platform that belonged to Bengaluru, bringing together fitness, community and sustainable mobility.
Sustainability remained a key focus of the event. A tree was pledged for every registration, while organisers followed a no-single-use-plastic policy and implemented responsible waste management measures. An electric scooter also led the races.
The event included wellness activities, entertainment, community engagements and awards for participants and families.
The initiative also extended its social impact beyond the cycling event, with proceeds supporting non-profit initiatives focused on educating underprivileged children and improving local schools.
Embassy Manyata, which houses more than 150,000 employees, provided the setting for the city-wide cycling initiative.
